COMMITTED TO QUALITY CARE
Our professional staff puts compassion and care as the highest priority, providing the best, most natural, comfortable and functional orthoses and prostheses to our patients.
APO practitioners are licensed by the state of Iowa, and are certified in orthotics (CO), prosthetics (CP), or both (CPO) by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC). They are specifically educated and trained to make and fit orthoses and prostheses and manage comprehensive orthotic and/or prosthetic patient care. ABC sets rigorous standards for credentialed practitioners to ensure that patients are receiving the best quality of care available.
ABC-certified practitioners are the only ones in the profession who are required to possess a college degree, complete a one-year residency program and pass a challenging three-part exam that includes hands-on assessment of clinical skills. They must also abide by the ABC Code of Professional Responsibility, which ensures that all ABC-certified individuals are practicing in accordance with professional and community standards.
APO practitioners regularly attend continuing education programs, including quarterly company seminars on new components and technology, and regional and national workshops and courses. Our practitioners also contribute research papers to scholarly journals, and teach orthotics and prosthetics courses at the university level.
